Marina Setting - Small and shipshape, The Cove Marina sits at a wide point on the East side of the recently dredged Elk river; the distant views of the lightly-developed far-shore create a sense of away. The primary dock has a generous T-head with wide slips and a few picnic tables that enjoy expansive river views and memorable sunsets, like the one above. Onshore, the small Ship Store and Dockside Business Center, tan and green in color, located starboard of the main dock, provides visitors and residents many of the amenities found at larger marinas. Marina Notes – Service oriented, accommodating owners live on site and take a personal approach to management. While there are taxis available, if they’re are going your direction, you may be able to hitch a ride. The T-head can take up to a 50 footer, and its catamaran-friendly slips off the T-head are very wide. An additional floating dock without power or water and an additional stationary dock provide overflow space for transients, if the need arises. The fixed dock has half-length finger piers with two steps down. There are plans for considerable improvements in 2007 and 2008, which include extending the floating dock and adding 50 slips; remodeling the ship/convenience store to include food and essentials; adding an enclosed gazebo in the BBQ area, and building two apartments above the office. The simple, perfectly fine bathhouses each have two toilets, two sinks and two fiberglass shower stalls and are handicap accessible. Back to Main
